The Chairman of the occasion, Chief Segun Osoba, while delivering his speech, said his presence at the occasion was in appreciation of the good things that Demola Badejo, who is an indigene of Ago-Iwoye, did to him.

Osoba commended Badejo for documenting in a book, his achievements and all the projects he executed while he was the governor.

The former governor thanked Badejo for being used by God to save him from embarrassment after he left office.

Osoba recalled the petition that was written against him to the EFCC, alleging misappropriation of funds while serving as governor.

He further disclosed that when he was invited by EFCC to defend the allegations, he presented the detailed documentary book of Badejo in defence, adding that he owed Badejo his survival.

Chief Osoba used the occasion to emphasise on the importance of continuity in government,  advising that successive governments must not rubbish the legacies of previous governments.

He commended Otunba Gbenga Daniel for building the Valley View hall among other projects during his administration, urging the present administration to put Valley View hall into use and not allow it to rot away.

The keynote speaker at the event, Mr. Niran Malaolu, former Ogun State Commissioner for Information, urged the civil servants, whom he described as the engine room of government, to always be loyal to the government in power and shun corruption.

Malaolu congratulated Badejo for his giant strides, acknowledging that he is a nice man who was able to bring together two former governors at his event without any uproar.

The Chief Presenter of the Autobiography, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, described Demola Badejo as a quintessential civil servant who worked with both military and civilian administrations, while he discharged his responsibilities creditably well.

Daniel, who acknowledged the presence of his political appointees that graced the occasion in large number, said his administration complied with continuity in government.
